Pacific Northeast Creations grew out of my love of creative focus and the way careful observation can help us soften, regulate, and mellow out.
In a world that can feel rushed or hectic, there is something powerful about shifting how you feel simply by paying attention. Sometimes the act of observing something you love, like working slowly on a painting of a beloved pet, can be surprisingly grounding.
Meet Eswen
I work primarily in watercolor because the medium itself is dynamic. I love the way it looks especially how watercolor conveys light on the page. My process is slow and meditative, building color and light layer by layer.
I’m drawn to subjects that make me smile, or even laugh. I hope you will feel that same spark of joy when you see my work. If I had enough wall space, I’d happily hang every painting I make in my own home.
I’m growing into sharing my love of watercolor through experiences. I have a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, so I understand how attention can shape our mood, how our body feels and how we perceive the world around us. Any creative experience can positively impact our health because it allows us to refocus, slow down and step out of our own worries. The end result of a painting is almost a bonus!
When I’m not painting, you’ll probably find me walking my dogs, nursing a very serious cup of tea, or scheming about my annual gingerbread decorating party.
What makes Pacific Northeast different
With a background in psychology, I’ve long been interested in how attention shapes how we feel. My work celebrates the beauty in ordinary things and the way careful observation can help us soften, slow down, and reconnect with the present moment.
Each piece balances careful observation paired with a sense of play. I hope my work is one more way of surrounding yourself with the things you love.
